| Our member 100TONN.KZ recently showcased outstanding engineering expertise during a highly complex industrial project. Working on behalf of long-standing client SOMA, a manufacturer of flexographic printing presses, the team was tasked with assembling and commissioning a 20-year-old Soma Midi that had been out of operation for years. After multiple relocations and with all component markings painted over, the machine presented a significant technical challenge. One of the biggest obstacles involved moving the 25-ton printing unit into the workshop. As it could only be lifted from specific slinging points, the local contractor was unable to provide suitable rigging equipment. Rather than allowing the project to stall, the specialists from 100TONN.KZ engineered an alternative solution. The team carefully jacked the 25-ton unit off its pallet, placed it onto machinery skates, and safely transported it into the workshop. From there, they completed the full mechanical and electrical installation, replaced damaged pneumatic components, and prepared the machine for commissioning. The result : The trial start-up was completed successfully, bringing the machine back into operation after years of inactivity. This project is a great example of the technical expertise, innovative thinking, and hands-on capabilities that GIRNetwork members bring to complex industrial projects worldwide. #girn #100tonn #projectnews #news #industrialrelocation #girn26 |
